A Modular Mobility Platform for the Future of Leisure Transport
Pedal cars have been part of the Belgian coast for more than 100 years and have become a true piece of cultural heritage. Yet, despite changing customer expectations, the industry had seen little to no innovation. The traditional experience had become heavy, repetitive, and less appealing especially for teenagers, who were no longer excited by simply pedaling.
But the biggest opportunity for innovation wasn’t just the vehicle itself it was the business behind it.
With the Park Series, we shifted from designing a single product to creating a scalable assisted pedaling platform. Instead of a one-off design, we developed a flexible architecture that can evolve into multiple vehicle types and applications. This approach better supports the business model while opening the door to entirely new markets.
Combing experience with business goals
The changing needs of customers along the North Sea coast require a new approach to leisure mobility. Over the years, the market has shifted from traditional single seat pedal cars to vehicles that accommodate families and groups, creating demand for more versatile and inclusive mobility solutions.
To meet these evolving expectations, we developed a modular mobility platform that brings together riders of different ages and abilities on a single vehicle. The platform supports both active and passive participation, allowing some passengers to pedal while others simply enjoy the ride. This creates a more social, accessible, and enjoyable experience for families and groups.
At the same time, operators are looking for simpler and more sustainable business models. Our platform is designed around a lean, modular architecture that enables vehicles to be easily reconfigured, upgraded, and reused for different applications. This extends product life, reduces operational costs, and provides greater flexibility for fleet owners.
While originally developed for leisure use along the North Sea coast, the platform is equally suited for a wide range of applications, including golf courses, resorts, holiday parks, public spaces, and municipal transport services. The result is a lightweight, adaptable micro-mobility platform that combines user-focused design with operational efficiency.
